We’re Living This, Too

We’re Gen Xers caring for Lauren’s 83-year-old mother. Although she has some mobility challenges and age-related forgetfulness, she wants to maintain her independence and stay in her own home—and we want that for her, too.
Over the past year, Keith installed smart home technology that transformed her independence and our peace of mind. She controls her lights and fan from bed. No more walking to the bathroom in the dark. Lauren can monitor her medication dispenser to ensure she’s taken her medications and to know when she’s running low. We can make sure the house is always at a comfortable temperature. She can see who’s at the door without getting up. In an emergency, EMS can get in without us being there.
